South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo: Watoto Welfare Empowers Women Economic Resilience at Kamanyola
Groupe Milima, a local implementer of Watoto Welfare, has trained and distributed seed capital to 25 vulnerable women in Kamanyola. The training was about entrepreneurship and financial literacy to help them build sustainable livelihoods amid ongoing economic hardship in eastern DRC.
The women received practical skills in business planning, savings, bookkeeping, and small business management, enabling them to start or grow income generating activities such as trade, agriculture, and tailoring.
This programme is part of the foundation’s mission to reduce poverty by empowering women, improving household income, and supporting children’s access to education and basic needs. Watoto Welfare’s approach is rooted in the belief that everyone should have a chance to learn, work, and earn a dignified living.
Participants in this project will continue to receive mentoring and business support to strengthen their progress and ensure long-term sustainability of their income-generating activities.
Watoto Welfare invites partners, donors, and supporters to join in expanding this impact. Your support can help more women in South Kivu build sustainable businesses and give their children a better future.
