One of our partners “Group Milima” Launches Initiative to Strengthen Social Cohesion and Inclusion in Uvira, South Kivu.
On December 29, 2025, in Uvira, South Kivu, one of our partners, Group Milima has introduced a new project aimed at promoting social cohesion and inclusion for displaced persons and marginalized groups in the city of Uvira. The initiative seeks to foster community resilience and reduce vulnerabilities through collaborative actions that encourage dialogue, mutual understanding, and equitable participation.
The program focuses on:
Community Engagement: Creating spaces for dialogue between host communities and displaced populations to build trust and solidarity.
Support for Marginalized Groups: Ensuring that individuals facing social or economic exclusion have access to opportunities and resources.
Capacity Building: Strengthening local structures to manage social challenges and promote peaceful coexistence.
This effort aligns with broader objectives to enhance social protection, improve livelihoods, and contribute to sustainable development in regions affected by displacement and instability.
Watoto Welfare recognizes the importance of such initiatives in advancing shared goals of education, food security, nutrition, social protection, and environmental sustainability. Partnerships like these demonstrate the power of collective action to create lasting impact for vulnerable communities.
Thanks for the support from GIZ and we call for all parties to partner with us for this vital cause, donate, or volunteer today to build resilience in Eastern DRC.
